CD Racing
CD Racing is located at the picturesque Fair Hill Training Center in Elkton, MD.  Our horses are stabled in the left hand side of Chevation 2, shown here.  Horses in training with CD Racing have access to a mile dirt track, a 7/8 mile all-weather Tapeta track, a full service gate crew 3 days per week, and over 350 acres of hills and trails for cross-country conditioning.  Our horses can be turned out in round pens and hand-grazed, weather permitting.  Other amenities available at Fair Hill Training Center include multiple vet practices and access to the Fair Hill Therapy Center which offers a hyperbaric chamber, an aqua-cizer, a cold salt water whirlpool spa, and other therapies.

CD Racing began in 2008 as a one horse hobby that Carl pursued in his spare time.  In the summer of 2009 CD Racing scored it's first win with a horse named Y'er Man in a 9 lengh victory at Parx (then Philadelphia Park).  Since that first win, Carl has built a successful small stable at Fair Hill Training Center which has been fortunate enough to include Don Wilson's talented Escrow Kid and his multiple Allowance winning sister Pure Strike.  Although CD Racing's early successes largely revolved around horses that Carl had brought along as 2 year olds, lately he has been making a name for himself breathing new life into horses that were down on their luck with Maiden Special Weight and Allowance wins from Life's Candy and My Success Story.

One of the perks of having your horse in training with CD Racing is that Carl rides the majority of the horses himself, getting on every horse personally several times per week.  This helps him to keep a very close line on how each horse is feeling both physically and mentally in their training.  As the rider he is able to set up each horse to succeed and feel like the most confident and competitive version of themselves. When they need a change in their training regime or some attention from the veterinarian Carl will know immediately so that a small problem doesn't become a glaring issue.
The benefit of such a hands-on approach is far-reaching.  Carl builds a relationship with every horse he has in training from their first day at Fair Hill through their gate work and breezes, to their very first race.  The result is a professional athlete that is sound in both body and mind.
